Alty FC round-up
2:40pm Wednesday 19th November 2008
ALTRINCHAM'S next two scheduled league games are at home.
The first of these matches is against Cambridge United at Moss Lane this Saturday (22nd) (3pm) and the following Saturday, another ex-League team, Rushden and Diamonds are the visitors to Moss Lane.
But if Alty have managed to overcome Luton Town in this week's FA Cup replay at Moss Lane on Tuesday, 18th, the Rushden game will be postponed and Alty will, instead, have an away FA Cup second round match at either Telford or Southend United that day (29th).
Altrincham signed two players last week. Richard Acton returned to Moss Lane as cover goalkeeper while defender James Smith, a former Stockport County first-teamer, joined after a brief spell with Vauxhall Motors.
But another defender, Luke Waterfall, returned to Tranmere Rovers at the end of his loan spell.
The newly formed Altrincham Supporters' Club (TRAC) is organising a Christmas draw - anyone who can help the club by selling or buying tickets please contact the club offices (0161 928-1045).
The club is holding a Bingo Night on Monday, November 24th. Any donations of goods for prizes will be received at the club office at Moss Lane.
On Saturday, November 29 there will be the Altrincham FC Christmas Party at the Cresta Court Hotel. This is planned to be a three course meal and disco, for which the price is just £30. But if Alty are involved in the FA Cup that evening, the nature of the evening will change but there will still be a celebratory event at the hotel.
So, don't miss out; get your tickets now by contacting Karen Rowley on 07720-606897.
Altrincham FC Youth team are at home to Marine, from Crosby on Merseyside, in a league match next Sunday, November 23.
